Observance of a holy Lent, 2021

We invite you, therefore, in the name of the Church, to the observance of a holy Lent…

Aloha Cathedral ‘ohana and friends, Lent is upon us. Forty days and forty nights~ what an opportunity to know more of Jesus and to journey onward with Him! Join us at the Cathedral as we walk the way of Love during this Lent season, this time specifically set apart for us to set ourselves apart. We have many opportunities for you, and you are welcome to them all!

...by self examination and repentance; by prayer, fasting, and self denial; and by reading and meditating on God’s holy Word. 

Our weekly worship schedule for Lent, all streamed on Facebook except as noted:

Sunday:
8:00 am and 10:00 am: Holy Communion, live in the Cathedral
and also streamed on FB
5:30 pm: Sunday evening Music Mosaic*
               *Sunday, March 7: Evensong, live-streamed

Monday: Bishop’s Monday Message – explore the hymns of Charles Wesley with Bishop Fitzpatrick (posted on Facebook each morning):

Tuesday: 9:00 am – A Holy Lent: Gospel and Collect of the Day, with hymns, music, and prayer

Wednesday: Bishop’s Bible Study – join Bishop Fitzpatrick for his weekly Lenten Bible Study
Bible study for up to five on-site participants in Von Holt, or via Zoom. Contact Lauren Houghtailing to join online.

Thursday:
        9:00 am: A Holy Lent: Gospel and Collect of the Day, with hymns, music, and prayer
        1:00 pm: Pastoral Care Prayer Hui, via Zoom. Do you have any personal concerns or needs for yourself or others? Request a zoom link here.

Friday:
        9:00 am: – A Holy Lent: Gospel and Collect of the Day, with hymns, music, and prayer
12:00 noon: Prayers at Noon, with the Vicars

Join in our Lenten Formation opportunity and participate in a “Lenten Exploration” guided by the Rev. Sam Portaro’s book Sense and Sensibility. Sunday evenings, 5:20 pm, tune in to Facebook before the Music Mosaic and hear the theme of the week as found in the Portaro book. And then, on Wednesday evenings, beginning on Feb. 24 7:00 – 7:45 pm, join Heather+ and members of the Cathedral ‘ohana on Zoom for an opportunity to discuss and pray together.
