Lent, 2019: Following “The Way of Love, Practices for a Jesus-Centered Life”

The Cathedral’s Adult Formation group-which means any and every one who is interested in spiritual strengthening and growth in community, presents a scripture-based thoughtful study & discussion series for the Holy Lenten season on Wednesday evenings March 13th through April 3rd. The four programs follow a curriculum developed by the Episcopal Church entitled, Life Transformed – Practices for a Jesus-Centered Life:

The journey through Lent into Easter is a journey with Jesus. We are baptized into his life, self-giving, and death; then, we rise in hope to life transformed. This Lent, communities are invited to walk with Jesus in his Way of Love and into the experience of transformed life. Together, we will reflect anew on the loving actions of God as recounted in the Easter Vigil readings. Together, we will walk through the depths of salvation history into the fullness of redemption:

  • Session I:
    Introduction to the Way of Love and a Rule of Life
    TURN: Dead to Sin, Alive in Christ (Romans 6:3-11)
  • Session II:
    Israel’s Deliverance at the Red Sea (Exodus 14:10-15:1);
    LEARN: Learn Wisdom and Live (Proverbs 8:1-8, 19-21; 9:4b-6)
  • Session III:
    A New Heart and a New Spirit (Ezekiel 36:24-28);
    REST: The Valley of Dry Bones (Ezekiel 37:1-14)

Please sign up with Ramona Simmons, secretary@thecathedralofstandrew.org (808-524-2822, ext. 212) for booklets and to volunteer for food preparation. We hope you can join us for focus & fellowship.
