A Message from our Vicars, September 9, 2020

Aloha Cathedral ‘ohana,

If there is anything that Keleawe and I have learned with even more clarity over these stay-at-home / work-from-home weeks, it is that we have a very special and hard-working lean, mean (in a good way!), Cathedral team, and if there is anything that challenging times make most clear, it is that we are much better as a community when we are united, together. That is perhaps even harder to do when physical distancing is keenly important for safety, and the office is closed. However, the Cathedral office ‘ohana works tirelessly to stay connected with one another to continue the necessary work for the ministry of the Cathedral. Multiple Zoom gatherings during the week, frequent phone calls and emails, shared documents and collaborative efforts are central to our shared life in the office.

We want to be certain that you know the team — and have asked them to share a picture. Putting a name and a face together is always helpful. You may meet them all right here.

We ask for your continued prayers for our team as the weeks of stay-at-home / work-from-home continue. We pray for our Cathedral ‘ohana each week in our staff meeting; please pray for the staff in your daily devotions.

Our staff meeting prayer, from the Book of Common Prayer, p. 818, For a Church Meeting:

Almighty and everliving God, source of all wisdom and understanding, be present with those who take counsel for the renewal
and mission of The Cathedral of St. Andrew.

Teach us in all things to seek first your honor and glory. Guide us to perceive what is right, and grant us both the courage to pursue it and the grace to accomplish it; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

With sincere gratitude,
Your Vicars
