Cathedral Reopening for Worship, Sunday, October 11, 10:00 am!
You will call your walls Salvation, and your portals Praise.
Aloha Cathedral ‘ohana,
We write to you this week with the exciting announcement of a degree of “regular” — we will be back live for Sunday church, starting on Sunday, October 11, 10am. Following in the pattern of worship we have shared on Facebook over these months, our Sunday worship will be one, blended language Liturgy of the Word. As we move week by week, our hope is to begin Eucharist together again on All Saints’ Sunday, November 1.
Updated information, along with all that we learned in June and July when we were last open, there are practices and protocols for our gathering. Much will be the same as the summer, if you come and join us in-person:
- Mask wearing is required.
- To assure physical distancing, look for the blue ‘x’ for a place to sit.
- Hand-sanitizer will be available.
- *You will be asked for your name and phone number to be written down by an usher, just in case we will need to do contact tracing. (*This is new.)
Our Orvis Scholars will be with us to share beautiful music, however, we will not share in congregational singing or responses. Rather, the Spirit will intercede for us with sighs too deep for words to express (Romans 8:26 mostly)…and one of the Vicars will offer the congregational responses, as we have been doing over these past months.
If you know that in-person church is not safe for you, if you are not feeling well, or you choose to remain at home, meet us on Facebook, 10am, as we will live-stream the service and join our ‘ohana together through time and space and cyberspace.
We remain grateful for your continued faithfulness and generosity. We have missed you!
