Mark Your Calendars:  

Training for Acolytes and Eucharistic Ministers scheduled! Training for Eucharistic Ministers (who help distribute the elements of communion) will take place July 23 at 9:15 am (between services). Acolytes (crucifer, torches) will get training July 30 at 9:15.
Special Social Justice Forum: Social Justice and the Law featuring Ronnie Kawakami this Sunday, 9:30 am, Von Holt Room.  Ronnie is a former Deputy Public Defender. She is currently Associate Dean for Student Services at the William S. Richardson School of Law and Acting Co-Director of the Hawai‘i Innocence Project. Ronnie is a role model for an entire generation of lawyers in Hawai’i…not only women who’ve entered the field, but advocates who see “the law” as a potentially powerful tool to address injustice, transform society, and offer a voice to the voiceless.

Deadline for contributing to the Outreach Committee’s School Supplies Drive is July 30! On that date the donated supplies will be blessed by Fr. Moki, and they will be delivered to the school on Monday, July 31.  Please bring school supplies or slippers and place them in the plastic bin under the Aloha Hour tent.  They will be delivered to our partner school Kalihi Waena on Monday, July 31st.

New Mahjong group meets in the Manger (former Dean’s office) Mondays at 9 am, starting July 10.

Please help the Outreach Committee fill bags with food and other items for the homeless after the Sunday 10:30 service in the Van Holt room.  Doesn’t take long with a few extra hands!  Children can be a big help too.

The Gospel Reflections program continues Sundays 9:15-10 am in the Manger (former Dean’s office). It is based on the African Bible Study process previously used here by Dan Benedict and colleagues. No long term commitment is needed, just come as you are and when you can. Please join us promptly at 9:15, our start time, as to not disturb the beginning of the reflection process. In response to some questions, YES we are continuing through the summer!

The Book Club at St. Andrew’s will be on hiatus for the summer, and will reconvene in the Fall.
